Our doctors have been amazing on this Journey. It seemed like last month we were preparing for “yet another” repeat of the month. The doctors listened to what were the symptoms after the last round and made the adjustments.
July 13th she started another round. Instead of the five days, they did three of the five. And on the last day, the excluded one of the medicines.
Only one night of neuropathy.
It was a small episode, but that was it. I think we are both grateful that it would not be a more regular occurrence. It is still scary and painful for Michele. Neither one of us is ready for any “permanent” ailments.
Also absent this round was the severe Nausea. Nausea is opposite of the Neuropathy. It is a steady slow pain that disrupts everything. Michele has been very fortunate to had much Nausea during her treatments.
How much longer?
Well, we are just on Maintenance Cycle Seven of a total of Thirty for the particular regimen we are on. The doctors may skip a couple and may end it early. Given that it is at best 28 days between each cycle…. we have much more to go through.
Our life is on a different rhythm right now.
I believe the best way to describe our world at the moment is that it is different than we envisioned before Cancer. We still get excited about getting out and doing things, but no longer have a desire for large crowds, concerts, or other things that puts us around people we are not normally around. We still find time to go out dancing, but not as often as we have. We even have a couple of trips with Friends coming up.
Are we working less? I would say no. We are working differently. Even with Cancer and all the doctor visits of the past nearly two years, Michele remains dominant in her work.
I blame the heat these days, but we have slowed down on our walks. Like everyone else, the pounds are finding us. π We feel less like a rocket trying to leave the atmosphere and more like one in orbit.
We get to spend more time with our new grand-daughter Bella. This is definitely easier with our new pace.
Doing our best to live.
I think our Doctor expects us to tell him about the next trip we want to take. It is often said around MD Anderson that you need to LIVE through this thing called Cancer. God wanted us to be right where we are today.
Remember! No news at the moment is currently good news.
Awesome news. Still praying for all of you & your families.
