Did we say the last one was Cycle 5?

Our bad… It turns out that this last round of outpatient Chemo was a part 2 of Cycle 4. It is either called 4B or 4N but we are not too sure still. It was a round of clinical trial medications we do know that. The week and weekend. Outpatient Treatments were a bit ofContinue reading “Did we say the last one was Cycle 5?”

No news must be good news

As we are getting into a new rhythm in 2022, we are going to latch onto this theme! After testing positive for Covid on the 3rd of January I must admit that my anxiety and stress escalated. When the doctors tell you repeatedly that the one thing to worry about the most is catching CovidContinue reading “No news must be good news”

2022 begins…

We are finished with the dosing for cycle 3. Which means 5 more cycles to go. Therapy Michele is continuing to work with her clients on a daily basis. Even when we are in the hospital, doing blood infusions like today, or driving back and forth to her doctors visits. She calls her clients herContinue reading “2022 begins…”

Saturday through Tuesday

Saturday was a crazy day. knowing we were planning to check into the hospital on Sunday it seemed like Saturday would be a relaxed day. But that was not the case. In the morning, Michele had a CT scan they wanted to do of her core area. Andrew was in town and so he andContinue reading “Saturday through Tuesday”

Friday night and…

Good evening, everyone! We have a little bit to catch everybody up on tonight. This last week we have done more testing which included a bone marrow biopsy. It is as fun as it sounds! The results on the biopsy show Negative for Minimal Residual Disease. This means that with their best testing for theContinue reading “Friday night and…”

A Week for Mending

Throughout these last 2 months, I can honestly say I feel more like myself this week than I have in a very long time. Sometimes we don’t know what normal is any more because its a slow gradual change. Change for me started about August this year when I knew something was not right withContinue reading “A Week for Mending”

Back home

Michele survived the two doses of Chemo through the Ammaya Reservoir without much of a hitch. She was able to return home on Monday night. It has been a blur of a couple of days as we have had a couple of appointments the last couple of days. We know that she will have aContinue reading “Back home”

The First Brain download today

Well, that is what we are going to call it! The Ommaya Reservoir was placed last Friday. It is healing nicely. Today, we start the Infusion through the reservoir. They say it is about a 15 minute process and she may feel a few things afterwords. It is a direct path into the spinal fluid.Continue reading “The First Brain download today”

Better today…

I will keep this entry pretty short tonight. She has completed the heavy dose of the medicine. Methotrexate https://medlineplus.gov/druginfo/meds/a682019.html She has done amazingly well on this treatment. So far no big swings on energy or on her blood counts. We expect that tomorrow will be a little different but all in all it was aContinue reading “Better today…”

Watching paint dry

That seems to be the most appropriate way to describe watching your blood count numbers grow. The good news is that today they are improving. Heading in the right direction is always great news. On this journey of slow and steady, progress is a good thing! Today a nice line of thunderstorms rolled in andContinue reading “Watching paint dry”
