In hindsight, we all think of great ideas. Like we should get a hotel room close in when we have back-to-back, long days. It turned out to be a short visit!!!! The blood work process is a system all to itself. Get your lab work done on the eighth floor of West Clinic (Elevator B)Continue reading “Tuesday’s visit and..”

5N. Final round 5 hours
Some days words are hard to express. So many people walk through the doors of garage 10 daily. Today she is a little slower but not really needing a wheelchair to go in today. We arrive by 10:00 am and it will be 7:00 pm or later before we are back at home. It hasContinue reading “5N. Final round 5 hours”

I know many of you keep up with this blog and wanted to give you a brief update. Michele has started 5N. The second half of the clinical trial. It has been a bit of a rough start. Feeling good. Time to work outside.
This is a compilation of days from last week. A little off of the timeline, but it took some time to get through this one. Mike Alleman Life and springtime. We surveyed our garden the other day. Just a couple of years ago we had the winter from hell in Texas. A deep freeze andContinue reading “Feeling good. Time to work outside.”
The Bones
It’s Friday morning and we are having another normal week. Yesterday Michele did her blood work in the morning. I read the numbers as still on the low side. The Doctors are telling us it is where they would expect. What does the mean? In most illnesses we expect treatment to make us better. Consistently.Continue reading “The Bones”
Hyper-CVAD?
Contradictions in life are always assured. Michele is losing her hair again and feeling stronger today than in the last couple of months. Today we slept in and then started working in our pajamas. Her Cancer is both in remission and being treated. What is in the name? Hyper-CVAD is the specific regimen to combatContinue reading “Hyper-CVAD?”

Quiet week (somewhat)
The weekend and week so far have been quiet. Well at least for the Cancer! Our son Andrew and daughter-in-law Andrea visited over the weekend. We laughed and ate well. Saturday was a lovely day outside. We spent it as much as we could in the back yard with the corn hole game and chairsContinue reading “Quiet week (somewhat)”
She got a massage today
Since Saturday we have had some decent days. Thank you to Phyllis Domingue for taking the early morning shift on Tuesday. They arrived at 6:00am for the blood draw. Her platelets were low again and they needed to do one more transfusion. Thankfully, it is a short transfusion, and they were home midafternoon. Massage timeContinue reading “She got a massage today”
Saturday is for wheelchairs
We had a sense that her numbers were still low yesterday. Somedays there is just a fog in the head that you can’t shake. It isn’t necessarily one thing, but you just know. We both had what I would call an emotionally exhaustive day yesterday (Friday). On those days, we try not to be harshContinue reading “Saturday is for wheelchairs”
